Meet Marcus
Combat veteran. Entrepreneur. Father. A Kissimmee local who knows this community and is ready to fight for it.
The Story
Marcus Carter is a veteran, father, and advocate for integrity in government. After graduating high school in 2002, Marcus enlisted in the Army and deployed to Afghanistan at just 19 years old. Over the next decade, he served multiple combat tours in both Afghanistan and Iraq, gaining firsthand experience in combat operations and intelligence.
His final role in service was developing training programs for biometric combat operations at Camp Lejeune, where he worked with the Marine Corps to enhance battlefield intelligence.
Following his military career, Marcus entered the financial sector, working as an investment advisor with Edward Jones before launching Carter Managed Investments in 2014. His analysis of the ride-sharing industry led him to create DriveSociety, a Tampa-based platform built on a groundbreaking model where drivers were the true owners of the platform, sharing in its equity and long-term success.
But as DriveSociety gained traction, Marcus learned the fight wasn't just against corporate giants - it was against a system rigged to protect them. Uber and Lyft used their influence with local and state governments to shut DriveSociety out. It was a turning point. Marcus saw clearly how deeply corporate interests had infiltrated government.
Marcus and his wife, Eka, welcomed their youngest son, Jacob, who was born with a rare and complex condition requiring life support. The family relocated to Miami for specialized care, eventually settling in Kissimmee in 2019. Caring for Jacob gave Marcus a front-row seat to the broken healthcare system.
Inspired by the need for new leadership, Marcus launched a campaign for Congress in October 2023. In 2025, he doubled down on his principles and launched a new campaign as a Republican. He's running for Congress in Florida's 9th District with a clear mission: to challenge the corrupt, entrenched establishment and return power to the people.

Fighting Corporate Giants
After his military service, Marcus built Carter Managed Investments and then DriveSociety - a revolutionary ride-sharing platform where drivers owned equity in the company.
When Uber and Lyft used their government connections to shut DriveSociety out, Marcus learned firsthand how the system is rigged to protect corporate interests over working people.
That experience fueled his mission: to expose corruption and fight for the people against the powerful.

Family First
Marcus and Eka live in Kissimmee with their two sons, Alex and Jacob. Jacob was born with a rare condition requiring life support - giving Marcus a front-row seat to the broken healthcare system.
